For the design team at Creative Craft Cottage we were sponsored by Star Stampz. The image I used is titled My Sweet Sunflower. Here is what I created My picture came out a little sideways lol. I love to create my background paper so for this I used a plastic liner that I got from something I bought at the grocery store. I then used my spray inks that color coordinated with the way I colored the image. I really wanted the image to pop so I layered it on black paper ( it doesnt show real well in the photo but the background paper is also matted on black paper). Now for a confession….I had to add the embossed Hello because I had an ink accident after I had put the card together and needed a way to hide it lol. I think it worked though…my happy accident.
For the design team at Dragonfly Dreams I used an image by Crafty sentiments titled Flora. I colored the image with copic markers ( which I am really trying to improve on and I realized I should probably wear my glasses when coloring ). I really wanted to add some sparkle to my card so the image would pop off the background.
For the design team at Creative Craft Cottage I used an image by Lemon Shortbread titled Wildflower Basket Fairy For my card I colored the image with my copic markers. I am really trying to get better with my coloring. I still don’t own a lot of copic markers so I am limited to the colors I can use but I am hoping to add more markers to my collection soon. I used a precut background and threaded it with ribbon and then added a few pearls for embellishment.
For the design team at Dark ‘n’ Daring I used an image by Rick St Dennis titled Frost Dragon 2.
Anyone who knows me knows I love dragons! So when I saw this image I just had to use it. I colored the image with colored pencils and then added what is suppose to be a grey gauze for creating ‘mummies’ behind it. I loved the way the texture was a little messy and tore up looking. I thought it really worked well to give texture to the card while staying within the color tone that I wanted.
For the design team at Angie’s Digital Stamps I used an image titled Owl on a Tree Limb. I wanted the owl to have a layer of color so I chose to use chalk to color the image in. I also knew I wanted the image to be the star of the show so I opted to keep the rest of the card very minimal. I hope everyone had a wonderful New years!!!
